When ever I try to use Windows Live Messenger, I always get an error saying <NULL> and then the messenger just closes. I already tried repairing it, but that didn't work. So I tried uninstalling and then re-installing it, and I still get the same error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'll format you in a minute

  7. if it was working before, just do a system restore to a date that it was working..

He could have a virus or damaged/altered system files. Formatting would fix it for sure. Takes an hour. And his computer is a million times faster afterwards.

Trying to figure out what the problem was will take even longer than the format.

If it were some other program, take your time looking. But it's MSN! How can you survive without MSN? It is like half the functionality of the computer =P

yes format will cure the potential problems, but that is only if user doesn't have anything to backup (if everyone installs and downloads stuff onto the same partition, good luck =) install is about 1.5 hours to be exact and depending on the computers specs, trying doing that on a 512MB system with a Celeron in it will be more than 1.5 hrs for sure; you will learn NOTHING by just formatting everytime there's a problem...

    e-messenger.net?

  10. what noasian said.

formatting is for the lazy :p

only reason i would ever format, is if the OS itself was damaged, corrupted, change OS to ubuntu, or last last resort if virus is too hard to remove.

everytime you format, you have to hunt for drivers and install them all again. that time, plus the formatting time would basically be more than the amount of time it would take to SOLVE the problem.

u don't save up the drivers discs? i put all the manuals and cd/dvd that came with the parts into the mobo's box, everythings intact and no need to hunt for drivers

    The_Jelly NSFW? :P

I do that too but a lot of people throw it away surprisingly. However, there are plenty of ISO's out there with over 100,000 driver on per disk for download.

  14. i keep them in a box like you do, but i lose the box and too lazy to find it :p
