Ok has anyone got wmp 11 beta 2? if yes does it crash randomly? there doesnt seem to be specific actions i do that make it crash, google didnt turn up any useful results... i had beta 1 installed and that worked fine, then i installed beta 2 and now it just randomly crashes with the standard windows error messages "this program had to close blah blah" in event viewer i get this error: Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 11.0.5705.5043, faulting module wmvcore.dll, version 11.0.5705.5043, fault address 0x000fd9bd. always this same error and at the moment ive had to roll back to media player 10 which sucks.... any help? thanks
^ well funny thing is beta 1 didnt crash at all! plus i know its beta, i know its gonna have its problem, which is why im posting to find out if anyone has any useful suggestions to make and not just "its beta it will crash" that does not help one bit
well i was more referring to the fact that windows crashes rather than beta, cos i know lots of beta's that run fine im not using the beta atm, but i guess best check with the microsoft development pages that have software testers discussions. You should report it to microsoft, so hopefully they'll fix the problem before the official release or maybe i'll just try to install the beta and see wat happens btw, does beta2 let u select audio channels output? as in select left or right channel outputted to both speakers
yeh prob is microsoft only running support for beta users in north america and im in uk so im just gonna use wmp10 till the proper release comes out... about the channel output, i have no idea im afraid cause i never tried it
i tried using wmp11 beta 2 hasnt' crashed yet have tried running rmvb's, avi, mpgs (after installing klite mega codecs) and it seems to be fine new interface seems ok, sorry couldn't help replicate error
I have been using this old classic player but it's encoded with all kinds of neat things. http://www.cccp-project.net/ It practically plays every kind of file you want.
