Hmm that sounds really interesting. I would love to read about how this is done. The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to wireless electricity is electrocution. I wonder how electricity can be transfered without wires and not shock the user at the same time. This is something I'm definitely going to keep an eye on.

I'm not technical skilled but tt doesn't seem very safe to me to use WiTricity; if even cellphones can disturb computers who says this won't influence other electronic stuff either? What if other electronic devices not suitable for WiTricity but somehow get triggered to use the same frequency as the magnetic field generated by the transmitter? What if there's a thunderstorm?

Nah, I'm not waiting for this invention. Maybe if they cocme back again in 10 years...

    'wii-tricity?'

  5. ive read this someone, but its impossible to "send" electric power.. electrical power need a medium to be transferred thru.. but in this case, they use frequencies... i bet that the charge is pretty weak..

that's creepy ... more radiation wave flying around me? or potential electrocution?

Lol ,Wi-tricity, thats pretty damn awesome though, no more charging lap-tops, mp3s and cell phones with wires

    LOL!

well anyways.. very interesting advancement in technology.. Not sure how secure this is, but if this technology is evolved in a couple of years we'll be having most of our electronic devices charged wireless/cordless.

hopefully our home is not gonna be a static field though lol, touching something can fry you cause everything will be charged up overtime

MAV should have posted a photo along with this article... The accompanying photo is funny where all the "scientists/engineers" stand between two plate insets, took me some time to figure out what to look for :D

Hurray for technology. Heard this news not long ago, cant wait to see them actually implement it.

Probably will end up with more dead bees, wipe out whole colonies of bees...

True, but then again, everything we do affects nature, so i guess humans need to be back to basic. :)

sounds interesting.. neva heard of this before.
i also think "electrocution" comes to mind when i think of this... walk inbetween the charger and the device.. the electricity will go through u? lol
if it works well.. no iterference, no electrocution, bigger range etc.. and compatible with many devices.... ie.. 1 charger able to charge more than 1 device eg 2 laptops (good for uni) or charge mobile phone, laptop ... that'd be really good.
