Luo Cuifen, 29 of Beijing, China, consulted doctors after noticing blood in her urine. Turns out she has 23 inch-long needles in her gut. Surgeons will now carefully remove the needles that allegedly were inserted by her grandparents who were hoping to kill her. From the Associated Press: Many of the needles have worked their way into Luo's vital organs including her lungs, liver, bladder and kidneys, making their removal difficult, said Qu Rui, a spokesman for the Richland International Hospital in Yunnan province's capital, Kunming... Qu said doctors believe the woman's grandparents may have inserted the needles long ago, hoping she would die and her parents might have a boy in her place. China limits most families to just one child, although rural Chinese may be allowed to have a second if their first is a girl, subject to the payment of fines. Oh yeah read about this too, it's amazing how she'd survived these 26 needles in her body all these years. But it's a really sick way to kill a baby if that's what the grandparents wanted to do with her.
*goosebumps* seriously... shes lucky to be alive...her grandparents on the other hand... Pfff....too bad their already dead.... hope they rot in hell for doing that...only cuz she doesnt have something hanging down there!!

she must've worked up a high tolerance of pain... what is it with all this torturing of women these days...
That kind of remind me of an ancient news where a scalpel was sealed in a patient's body (somewhere between the pancreas and the liver) and it wasn't found out until YEARS later... and it turns out, the patient's body released a stable form of calcium to "wrap" the sharp edge of the scalpel... Almost like the way a shell produces pearl... Miracle the patient survived all these years, so I am sure this woman will too...
Really crazy to do this to your own family members. I am wondering if everyone wants a boy China won't has any women to give any boys birth. Just weird and a vicious circle!
wow...i'm suprised that she survived that...wiht needles in her gut i'm suprised that it hasn't caused her to bleed out due to internal bleeding or anything like that....chinese people really need some psychotherapy or some ways to fix their fixation on the boy is the only type of child we will ahve....

awful parents/grandparent ....they certainly broke the records of tormenting unwanted children and they have earned a place in Hall of shame for worst parenting in this crazy world.sad but true-censored
