^ 8 physical cores is something else... intel uses what they call hyper threading to achieve "8" cores...
*sigh* So disappointed with AMD, those aren't even real cores, and somehow the IPC of these new processors are even worse than their old ones.
from anandtech.com To my understanding, Bulldozer contains 4 modules, which consists of 2 integer cores and a shared floating point unit unlike in a traditional "core". You could consider them actual cores if you want. However, it seems that on a per core basis, Bulldozer cores performs worse than Phenom II cores.
The reviews are out, I so wanted amd to win again, very disappointed, lack of competition can't be good. People still saying pc's are dieing, boring
