i put this in here, becuase i think in highly relates to physcial and mental health would you rather work for a small or big company? would you rather work contract or permenant hire? would you rather have a prestigious name on your resume or an opportunity to learn more does the work enviorment make a difference would you move to another city for the sake of a job would you rather be hourly? or salary? would you rather have high pay, or less pay but benifits like health care
id rather work for a big company as its better in the long run a) It looks good on your resume/CV b) most likely to have pension as well c) you'll learn more and be able to expand into a lot of areas if ya know what i mean d) gain great experience
big company becoz: more money more advance opportunities more money for training better benefits of course, looks good on your resume permanent hire becoz I don't like the fact that my income is unstable; guess that means i wld rather have salary. i find that the environment is important; however it is also my experience that wherever you go, there will be gossips, there will be politics, there will be dumb butts! i will move if the offer is really AWESOME; and that's after taking into consideration the change in cost of livign.
would you rather work for a small or big company? Big company for their training and generally better benefit program. would you rather work contract or permenant hire? Perm, because contract is not very conductive to my blood pressure. would you rather have a prestigious name on your resume or an opportunity to learn more Generally with a prestigious name... they don't really care what you do as long as you finish your share of the work. So you can learn on you own at prestigious firms too. But of course, it depends on which point in my career you are asking about. In the beginning, you need at least ONE prestigious name on your CV, then it's all about knowing A LOT, more than your potential competitions. Afterwards it's back to bigger firms for their wider vision and possibility to transfer to other positions... Not to mention pension plans and benefit. does the work enviorment make a difference Totally, because a work environment filled with backstabbers is stressful (although I must say it is one hell of learning experience) would you move to another city for the sake of a job Totally, because they usually give you allocation for your relocation expenses. would you rather be hourly? or salary? Salary, full-time perm work usually goes by salary... would you rather have high pay, or less pay but benifits like health care Depends on how great the benefit is... But generally I would prefer a company with benefit, generally...
but is the allocation worth leaving your family and friendes? when i got allocation for moving it wasn't all that much sure it was maybe 1.5 the amount i actually needed for moving so i had money to pocket but it ment leaving stuff behind, i might not (luckily i was still close by) and for work enviorment? what itf it was boring? how would you approach that?
well its all dependent on wat u personally want... that said generally speaking, small comp = u get more hands on experience, get to do more various stuff. but if u get a lot of work, u haf to complete it, no1 to help... good thing is u get experience to do everything needed. however, usually less pay, less interaction, doesnt' sound too good. big comp = can atleast brag saying ur in a good company, lot more opportunities for development and training. however, pay is pretty crap while ur still at low level.. but increases are pretty good. that said, ur more likely to get stuck doing the same things over n over agian, with less variety. contract vs permanent, u'd feel more "secure" working permanent as u kinda haf a set job (tho ur not guaranteed to hold it, as u can get sacked/fired). u get more development and training. if ur contract, u get paid more, less flexible, and need to show that u can do ur stuff... then once it ends, gotta start job searching again =( work environment is def a big importance if u have mean/unfriendly co-workers, then u'd always feel unhappy/stressed etc not something u'd look forward to everyday, i'd rather choose to work for more fun/friendly place with less pay (which is wat i've done... tho i do miss my $$ lol) usually all the "pay" is set out as a package for all permanent staff with $xx as monthly/fortnightly payments $yy as superannuation $zz as health care or car leasing etc etc depends wat u really need, u can negiotiate how its spread plus if u get say laptop/fones/cars salary sacrificed, u get taxed less so its just really depends on wat u need and want
Prefer smaller a) Greater impact on the company b) Pension will still be there c) Can easier be spear heading a certain niche market d) not just a number e) can if good get a better position quicker on a big firm as you are part of a niche
Big company - big money - more people.... I like a large community rather than an office of 5 members.
would you rather work for a small or big company? big would you rather work contract or permenant hire? permanent hire. i can quit after.. would you rather have a prestigious name on your resume or an opportunity to learn more fuck learning.. prestige is the game lol jsk... but seriously, you learn everywhere.. so if you dont learn thru a small company, you learn different things from the bigger company... does the work enviorment make a difference hell yea... my old manager vs my new.... my old is cool and easy, my new is alco cool, but asks more effort from me lol would you move to another city for the sake of a job no... actually... i dont know... if the pay is great, then maybe... would you rather be hourly? or salary? salary would you rather have high pay, or less pay but benifits like health care high pay. we automatically get health care benefit here in canada -bigsmile
