On the afternoon of May 20th, NEWS’s Yamashita Tomohisa arrived in Taiwan’s SonShan Airport, where he was greeted by about 400 local fans. Despite being in the airport for only 3 minutes, his presence caused a frenzy, with some fans shouting in Japanese, “Yamapi, I love you!“. Yamashita, who hasn’t been to Taiwan in 3 years, flew over this time to hold his first solo concerts there, as part of his ongoing Asian tour. The performances were originally scheduled for March, but were postponed to May after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake. The idol was accompanied by around 60 people, including members of fellow Johnny’s Entertainment units FiVe and A.B.C-Z. The Taiwan organizers of the concerts sent 50 staff and 15 bodyguards to meet them. Only a few hours after his arrival, Yamashita kicked off the first of his three consecutive night concerts. A total of 15,000 fans are expected to attend his performances. Source: The Liberty Times & Yule, Tokyohive
