Apparantly she had a role in The Greed of Man, in which she played "a major female character who became insane after a series of family tragedies and died by accident in the end." She wasn't able to get out of her character and went mental. Thus leading to all this shit happening.
Yeah.. she used to be really hot. God damn she's only 47 but she looked 57 in the picture. I think the last time I saw her was in Stephen Chow's Chinese Odyssey. My friends told me she was crazy at that time I was like 'no way'!
You kids probably don't know her but she was really popular back in the 80's but she did have mental health issues later on, around the late 90's. She was having gambling issues and other problems. Don't know if the mental issues was the cause or the effect. But it's sad to see something like that.

This month she repeatedly entered the hospital for treatment. But the reason why she had developed this mental illness was still not confirmed. Yammie's good friend singer Yang Man Li accepted an interview with "Nanfang Daily" to promote her album. She discussed in detail Yammie's current condition and her past. She also analyzed the reason behind her illness. She mentioned that Yammie was raped by a Hong Kong entertainment triad boss in the past, perhaps due to the unfortunate encounter that's why it caused Yammie to become mentally unstable. The most hated men in her life From the report in "Nanfang Daily" Yang Man Li personally felt that Yammie's mental illness was caused by her unfortunate past experiences. She revealed that Yammie repeatedly mentioned to her she had a few men in her life she really hated. Including the Hong Kong Entertainment Triad Boss. Yang says "He was Hong Kong entertainment's triad boss, a very powerful person. Yammie said, during that time she was in Singapore filming and was raped by him. The triad boss reasoning is much more reasonable that she became like this. You gotta be possessed by a ghost if you cannot get outta character while filming

i didn't know she was raped... but my mom always said she played a crazy role and she just wasn't the same after it
