As Miriam is playing the role of a fish seller, she naturally had to kill many fishes in the movie. "Even though we killed many fishes, they were mostly those that are unable for sale, hence it's not that cruel. There was once I had to kill an eel that jumps around. I was so scared. My family believes in Buddhism and don't take lives. So I asked the director to hit the fish for it to faint and I can't have NGs, if not we had to kill another fish." This is Miriam's 4th time cooperating with Eason Chan. She recalled the first time when they worked together, "We filmmed 'Rumble Ages' together when we first entered showbiz and we looked like extras. That was about 8 years ago. This time collaborating again, both of us have changed. He is more matured and detailed in expressing his emotions. Our chemistry was good." Miriam's character in "Hooked on You" hopes to get married before 30. In real life, the 33-year-old Miriam is not worried about this problem, "We mustn't let numbers determine our thinking in life. In the past, traditional thinking is that getting married and bearing children is a woman's final destination. But it's more important for modern women to be independent nowadays. Love and marriage are for women to enjoy, and not to become their burdens. Even if there's no marriage, there's still different love experiences. There need to be serious consideration before getting married." Miriam still looks forward to a relationship, "I do get to know some guys but I'm clear that work is the most important for me now. I just changed a company, there's no time for dating. But this doesn't mean I won't go for dates. If I met a guy who can understand my working hours, there's still a chance." As for marriage, Miriam said, "I wanted to get married when I was 25. Because that time I had been working in the showbiz for 6 years, I was a little tired and lost, thinking how I could go on. Now I find that I love my job very much. Marriage is not very important. The process of 2 person being happy together is more important." Recently, Miriam received the title of "Honorary Fellow" by Hong Kong Polytechnic University to acknowledge her certificate in nursing school. "Hong Kong nursing schools didn't have certificate courses in the past." Before entering showbiz, Miriam was a nurse. "I miss the days working in the hospital, there's a lot of memories. The values and judgement skills I've learnt in the nursing school can still be applied in the showbiz." This honour let Miriam thought of studying Chinese medicine, "Some Western medicines have complications. Chinese medicines have less complications. I hope to study if there's a chance." Miriam is often being asked about her rumours with Sammi Cheng. "Such rumours are written since I entered showbiz. Actually what the media write doesn't matter. I'm just a topic, putting me and Sammi as the opening then rest of the essay will be talking about other things." Both of them are in the same company now. Will there be a chance of collaboration? "Yes, if there's a suitable project. But there won't be a cooperation to create entertainment topics."
