Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) announced that she will be co-financing the sequel movie, Sophie’s Revenge <非常完美>, which won critical acclaim and performed admirably at the box office when it was released in 2009. Sophie’s Revenge was co-produced with South Korea’s CJ Entertainment and featured a popular cast such as So Ji-sub, Fan Bingbing ( 范冰冰), Ruby Lin (林心如), Yao Chen (姚晨), and Peter Ho (何潤東). The sequel’s preliminary filming date was scheduled for June 2012, in which Zhang Ziyi hoped to feature its original cast once again. The plot in Sophie’s Revenge 2will chronicle the love adventures of “Sophie” (Zhang Ziyi) , a comic book artist who dared to go to extreme lengths and mechanisms in her fight for love. For the sequel, Zhang Ziyi hoped to find either a renown Hong Kong or Taiwanese actor to be added to the cast, in an attempt to seek new sparks and add increased star power of the lead cast. At the end of March, Ziyi will travel to Shenyang, Liaoning Province to complete the filming of Wong Kar Wai’s (王家衛) biopic, The Grandmaster <一代宗師)>. Filming for Sophie’s Revenge 2 was expected to take place in Hong Kong, Singapore and other locations.
