^ lucky u could read that. i can only read a REALLY LITTLE bit of chinese. :( what does it say n e way?
basically only 2 out of 100 people can pronounce the sentence in bold correctly like phoenixgirl said, its like a tongue twister where the words have very similar tones/sounds here are the words romanized in jyutping (cantonese) / pinyin (mandarin) 過 gwo3 / guo4 國 gwok3 / guo2 果 gwo2 / guo3 郭 gwok3 / guo1
It's kind of silly... not because there's only 2% of people who can read it correctly, but as a tongue-twister it was a horrid one as it has NO meaning whatsoever. Or maybe someone care to enlighten me?
This tongue twister is much tougher in Mandarin than Cantonese but doing it in either dialect will give your tongue a good exercise
It's a really funny tongue twister, but sorry to say, it really doesn't have any meaning to it... I'm still wondering, which language was it meant for? Cantonese or Mandarin? I tried saying it in both, both meaningless yet fun and hard... o.o
