Sweet justice if this story is true. And I do believe an 11 year old can handle a 12 guage shottie. There are plenty of father/mother and son/daughter shooting competitions in the US and there are shooting ranges in the US that allow children to shoot as long as they're supervised. And, when shooting a weapon of that caliber all you have to do is be able to hold onto the weapon. The body will obsorb the recoil if you know how to prepare. It's simple.
