You mean they do it to replace the lack of fatherly or motherly figure which they did not have as a child.
One thing i would like to add Why is okay for an older man and younger girl But not for younger guy and older women. Does it have to do something with the partriarchial society we live in/
i don't think age matters as long as you love each other. Maybe in the younger years, age difference is a big deal, but as you get older, age doesn't play a big part anymore.
Well personally i wouldn't mind if the guy was like 5 years older then me but if he was like 10years + thats a bit too much for me.. but i mean some ppl say that age doesn't matter as long as you get along .. thats not really true for me =/

age doesn`t matter nowadays doesn`t it ? it was a big issue back then .. but as times goes by as long as both have the mutual relationship.. why not? Even my fiancee & me have a 10 yrs gap btween us ..but it doesn`t make things harder.. it does help me a LOT at viewing other things in life .. and it sure does make him felt younger .. as u all know males are late bloomers anyway .. no offence though ... Well of course if u view it while he was 10 y.o than it`ll be unethical or wrong.. and whatever horrible names u may call .. isn`t it obvious, when he was 10, i`m still a red screaming wet baby lol.. Oh well it`s all depends on each individual beings afterall
for me i think 10-15 yrs age gap is my max and it all depends on how people sees it...i guess...and as long as they are happily together ^_^

I would say that as long as both person are legal and sane, whatever happens between the two are entirely their business and no-one else's. That is, of course, unless they are blood relative and the relationship is incesous; or one person is an authority figure to the other (i.e.: boss). Else, I really see no problem with age gaps. Though personally I won't go for anyone old enough to be my father, but anywhere up to 10 years are okay, I think.
age gap is personal preference..my guy friends wouldnt mind dating older women..but for me i rather look for a guy thats older then me
Age is no a big deal as long as his/her maturiy matches yours and both of you can communicate well.. but not to 'big' gap la.. 5 years different should be ok

if its real love, then i think age doesn't really matter, sure it can seem illegal especially with the times but have to remember back in the days of old time, there were all kinds of age gaps, some out of love, others out of well forced marriages or other things. As i said if loves in it, then i believe thats its between them
Age doesn't matter in love, But we spectators detest to see it, can you imagining a 20 years old woman/man with a 50 years old woman/man............... (hmmmmmm, if i were 50 years old, I would love to have a 20 years old girlfriend then, hmmmm i am oversexed -rolleyes )
