Yeah, but having 60 tons of armor around you sort of changes the equation a bit, LOL...

Regardless, they're probably all more resilient than my Hyundai.

Glad nothing happened to you. But sometimes I wish guys like that would just "accidentally" hit something instead. It's probably not a nice thing to say but if it was him versus your car, it would have teach him a valuable lesson hahaha. Just yesterday, someone flipped me off because I did not want to tail someone on the highway. People are just rude.

Even with a dash cam, would he be able to get caught? Whenever I look at the quality it is so grainy that you can barely make any real detail out.

Thank you for your well wishes. But yeah, I understand what you're saying; thus far from all the things that I've looked at of Dash Cams so far (by review of the net) there seems to be a wide field of prices, quality, ease of use, installment, and complaints. I've seen some dash cam videos on youtube that looked great, and others that you can't even see what was going on (and that one was from a police 'official' video; the cheapskates, LOL...). And I agree that the road is often littered with rudeness.

At any rate, I also understand the sentiment of wishing an impact on an asshole just to teach him or her (sadly, lots of times it's a gal too) a real painful lesson. Yes, it's easy to say that, but not so easy to pick up the pieces of him and or others later. My take is, if the lesson is financial or legal proscription from driving (ie suspension or revocation of license), then that can also be done by video. The deciding issue for me thus, is the quality of video of a vehicle passing about 10-20 feet in front of me, and if I could read the license plate or not.

Update: After looking on line over several dash cam manufacturers and models, I've come to the conclusion that dash cams themselves are generally shit technology that needs serious upgrading before any sort of reliability can be expected. Furthermore, existing off the shelf technology (such as the GoPro, Drifter, Sony Action Cam) really puts these dash cams to shame, and cost roughly the same. Still checking out cams, but I think I'm leaning towards either the Sony or GoPro.

    GoPro's latest model, Hero3
