I thought it was CGI but when he turned his head, his hat 'whipped' the turtle and it moved along side with it (didn't fall over), but yeah, it was trying to climb off but was scared (the arm was retracting back and forth) edit: 23.08.13 This was mentioned in the earlier episodes but who realise that the lake and some other place sounds awfully familiar to Bobby Au Yueng and Esther Kwan's chinese name? Kwan Wing Hor (Hor as lake), Au Yueng Fu (<--something like that)
After watching Friday's episode, I can't believe how easily manipulated and monumentally stupid that 'emperor' is; no wonder the Song didn't last, LOL...
yes, au yeung chan is apparently the name of a town in the show. i believe there were a couple more of those funny names. the turtle for example is actually the name of some chinese "herbs".
should be by the end of this week. since its 31 episodes lol. he has to kill estha. I like the director, interesting guy. Turtle looks to be the same turtle they in the future. The post modern dude looks like his dad. The proposal at the beginning about 3 lives together The swear estha made with her god bro about 3 lives getting killed by the one she loves. It's all linked.
dude, no offense, but have we been watching the same drama? the turtle in the future was like huge and the turtle in the song dynasty is tiny xD
Yeah I think it's the same turtle, the turtle is a link to the 3 stories. Although many people think turtles can live a 1000 years, it's not true though.
Right; the longest lived turtle, which survived an estimated 188 years, was Tu'i Malila, a Madagascar Radiated Tortoise that was given to the Royal Family of Tonga by Captain James Cook. Still, the turtle has nonetheless been a perpetual Chinese sign of longevity over many dynasties. Its symbolism to the story and plot in this series is obvious. But the best? The serious "Kung Fu" battle extravaganza between Bobby and Ben Wong; they looked like two teenage girls flailing at each other in a schoolyard piss fight, LOL...
the stupidity of this emperor is really pissing me off... no, actually it's just the script writer sucking at his job. the emperor listens to ANYONE who says ANYTHING.
Well, it's pretty obvious that TVB's story needed to have an incompetent leader that could be easily manipulated; if the guy had been sharp, he would have easily seen through the schemes and machinations of his court sycophants. But, I certainly understand the sentiment. TVB is carrying this "stupid leader" stuff to a whole annoyingly new level, LOL...
and why did esther kwan just HAVE to die? justice bao said she's ok now, the emperor said she's ok now, yet she has to die -_- wtf.
actually, its not the script writers fault...it was pretty accurate...most Song Dynasty emperors were pretty incompetent xD, why did you think it ended up being Southern Song and then got raped by the Mongols
actually, there are incompetent leaders in every dynasty, not just the song. just look up at wikipedia what great stuff they did in the song dynasty and how complicated the situation was. they had to face multiple threats, the jin (jurchen), the liao (khitan), the xixia (tanguts) and the yuan (mongols) in numerous battles. if losing to the mongols meant that the song got "raped", half the civilized world back then got "raped". i don't think it's a shame for the song to lose to the mongols. half the world lost.
So, what dynasty wasn't incompetent? (Hint, they're all extinct... get it?) Oh, and lest we forget, that famous Qin Dynasty, which united (cough... conquered, ...cough) all of China only lasted about twenty years; so in that sense, incompetent or not, the Song lasted more than ten times longer than the Qin, and more than twice as long as their conquerors, the Yuan headbang2
Just don't take anything in this serie too seriously (there's time travelling for crying out loud), it's more meant to be a comedy anyway. The first episode in the fifties was quite funny.
