actually, like around 50million chinese died in WW2, but yea white people in general dont talk about the truth. Everythign we r taught today is supposed to benefit the whites and how good and superior they r in everyway. An easy example would be, like in the history textbooks they never show how great asian nations used to be or how good china today, all they show is how poor they r and unadvanced and behind they r from europeans and US. Back then every other race like the hispanics with mayas, Arabs, American Indians, Africans, and Asians with chinese had palaces and riches while the europeans were living in HUTS AND CAVES(This is tha truth). They never talk about how china was tha greatest or 1 of the greatest nations in the world before europeans had guns (Chinese made the first guns just didn't attempt to find way to use it as a weapon). They do all this becuz they dont wanna look bad, they wanan make themselves look better, they dont the truth.

Overall, doesn't it seem like we r look upon as second class???

true! Americans are educated this way. thats why they are ignorant. if they didnt have much attention on jap concentration camps it is still consider ok cause at the same time of the event ,they (the press) always focusing on ww2 with japan to cover the issue of the jap concentration camps. They always said free Tibet!! they said China conquer Tibet, China is oppressor. but when you ask them back about genocide of red-indian, massacred and raping of the tribe population + herding them like sheeps and isolate them to the west/reserve land and let them rot there then they will keep quite. Then they will be ashame. then you take it futher bout the aneexation if Hawaii without the native permission(voice), the war in Iraq and so on they will have to find a hole and hide THIER HEADS!!

food for thought: henry ford(a true american) was hailed as a hero but was an outright supporter of hitler while hitler was in power. it was only after
WWII that henry ford denouced hitler from pressure. americans are hypocrites?-rockon

Surprisingly if you're located in a liberal state (California, New York, Oregon, Etc) they actually teach more tolerable things. I personally learned a lot about the Japanese Internment.

Definitely and I especially hate it when some white kid says "go back to your country." It's like, -censored , where do you think americans came from!? Go back to England!

Well, every country has their blemishes. It goes the same in Canada. If u goto canada and ask about Residentcial school, a lot of Canadians will not want to talk about it either. It is one of the blemishes of Canada
But then my school wasn't that bad in covering up the happenings during the war in Canada. I remember reading in my history books that Canada did have sort of camps where the Japanese did go to during the war. But in the book is says it was for their protection from the ppls that are discriminatory against the japanese. So the government put then into camps as protection. I donno if its true or not, but thats what i remember reading.
Well, one good thing about this is that Canada does not deny that fact that we did have Residencial school in Canada. In schools they didn't censor that Canada had these types of school, they thought it to us and told us what they were.
Oh yeah and for those people that don't know what residencial school are, well they were basically schools where native american children were sent to, and it was basically genocide of the native american culture within those school. Whole cultures were basically wiped out and replaced with Christian and western ideals.

Every country is biased to its own history. In Japan they have been changing the history books for their role in WWII...I'm sure N.American governments don't want to be reminded of how the Native Americans were bullied either...

The history textbooks are penned by the winners, and by human nature, one will want to cover up their not-so glorious past and the underhand they played to achieve their victory. Add that to the glorified victory, you get a typical person.
Consider, China got its own skeleton in the closet, so does United States, so does Canada, so does the UK. How about the Tiananmen Square Massacre? How about the death of immigrant workers during the construction of Canadian Pacific Railway? How about putting Asians suspected of esponage into concentrated camps? How about raiding every single possible archeological ruins in the world?
It is not hypocritic, it is more human nature. Nobody want to admit they played a trick to gain their victory. Everyone want to say "I prevail because I am the righteous (God-sent?)"

agree, people are people. And it's human nature to for greed, power and to be righteous
