Andy Lau is actually 45 years old. He seems old but some of Hollywood's elite actors are also around that age. Tome Cruise is 44, Brad Pitt is 43, Johnny Depp is 43 and George Clooney is 45.

None of these actors are retiring any time soon because they are in their prime. Call them old all you want, but these guys are wealthy, in good shape and able to get any woman they want.

lol I'll take Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp any day! :p I'll have to think about Clooney...

And for the record, I think Andy Lau is aging very gracefully! I swear the man gets younger as he ages!

I wonder if he's ever had a facelift...

Hollywood is remaking the Infernal Affairs and rumoured actor includes Leonardo DiCaprio. I don't think the remake will be as good as HK one. For Example, The Grudge 1 & 2. In Japan it was a hit and the remake was crap! Not scary at all.

Another thing, I still think Andy is still good looking for his age and those wrinkles near his eyes makes him look so much sexier than when he was in the Fab Four( say die tin wong).

    Sensible choice i think,
As people have said, the chinese just get stereo typed in America and end up doing "Kung Fu" films which are mostly poor compare to the stuff that gets outputted in HK in the past and now.

Go Andy Go! He has every right to slam hollywood. He can wait until he gets a role that he feels comfortable playing. It'll be some time before you'll see Asian actors play large roles on a regular basis anyways. Just be happy to have Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li out there paving the way for the future.
The American remake of Infernal Affairs is slated to be out October 6 starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg and directed by Martin Scorsese. It's called The Departed and was filmed partially in Boston. I saw some of it filmed in Chinatown last year. It should be a good remake with that cast and director.

I totally agree with Andy's statement and I think he make a smart chose not going to Hollywood, what is it with people's dream going to hollywood, its just another place they make movies, it just a bigger place, and like movies in other places, they are not all good movies.

Everyone needs to start somewhere. If he was looking at it optimistically he would have taken the position and poured his heart out for good reviews...then he'll be getting scripts he'll like more.

I seconded most of the arguments above that Andy shouldn't move to Hollywood. As we can see from the previous Asian artist that based in Hollywood, they are either act as a martial arts fighter or co-actor/actress. THis will bring -ve image to the artist and the Asian coutry too. But unless the artor have a great script, then it is worth it.

This is almost like Jet Li, you can see the difference between jet Li's hollywood films and his chinese films. His hollywood ones sucked big time, whilst his chinese movies are classics
