i watched it just last week! it was pretty good. there was a lot of ppl that said it sucked but they are wrong. it was so GOOD. even though jackie chan and jet li are not the main characters. the fighting scenes are pretty good.. i wish they had more.. x]
Seriously? The first is anything but spectacular. The story was horrible and too much CG for my taste. Also, the white guy totally ruined the movie for me. A white guy in ancient China? At least choose a chinese guy. As much as I love Jet-Li and Jackie Chan, this movie bombed big time.
the movie i found ok.. it the story line was a lil on the blah side but the sceanary and the fight scense i found was awsome... but i am not surpised by the story line tho.. This movie was directed at a AMERICAN audiance.... and to add a orginal story of journey to the west into the plot line would cause way too much confusion to AMERICAN audiences. And just the fact that having a God like Jade KIng and the other gods would cause many religious implications....
The problem with the first one is that it messed up with the story, n the 2nd one with totally be wrong. This would have been a good opportunity to promote china's myths and legend, instead, the journey to the west story has been made into a joke i think.
d fighting scene was good but d story was kinda weird. if we are asians then we probably will feel d same. because we all already know d legend of Monkey King. all of sudden they all speaking english. that makes me "wait a second". but it was good.
I just saw the first one and I didn't like it. it felt like a bunch of good fight scenes strung together by a weak story. I hope they spend more time on the story for the sequel.
Is like a story of promoting various of chinese culture and legend to non-chinese. Anyhow, this will make viewer (especially non-chinese) have different view on chinese legend. Monkey king story shouldn't be like this and etc etc. Also, since Jet and Jacky are good guys in the story, they are like somehow purposely making a scene where they both fight. Haha
The first one was OK. Could be better. Maybe the second could make better, becouse now the western audiance has an entrance into chinese myth. In a second part they can now bring more of it. Jackie was great as the drunken bagger. I like it!
This first one is pretty good. Action in this one kept the movie going along at a fast pace and kept it interesting. The story is a good adaption of the Monkey King. Jet Li was good at playing the part. Jackie Chan is always entertaining, especially as a drunken master. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie and time passed very quickly while watching it. Now, just waiting to see if there will be a second one.
I'm interested to find out the storyline for the second movie. If it doesn't continue from the first, it isn't really a sequel right?
