i think after my norton subscription runs out, im gonna go and try some free stuff like AVG. Had enough of having to pay subscription fees
Very interesting article http://www.zdnet.com.au/blogs/secur..._apps_do_not_work_/0,39033341,39264249,00.htm
haha..i came across that article earlier..i thought it was an interesting read....however..indeed they do say that these apps are in effective...however...when these avs are partenered with the right spyware, firewall etc..they are indeed quite effective...
yes i agree. norton sucks. try trendmicro. esp if your parents or you work for a large company, most companies do provide a key for their employees for an antivirus suite
we had an entire thread on bashing norton. unfortunately many ppl out there had issues with the standalone av, i personally find the security suite/nternet suite to be quite effective.
I am anti norton tooo......... overly commercial, Branded antivirus but uselesss i prefer Free AVG(i use it in my office comp), Avast ( also a nice & reliable) , Kapersky( very good and nice but use alot of yr processor), but currently i am trying out NOD32 antivirus quite reliable.
I am using Norton but there are still a lot of spyware threats in my computer that it did not pickup. Any reasons?
norton internet suite or norton basic?...with norton basic it wont pick up all spyware threats. u''ll need other tools for that: Adaware Spybot Spyware guard Spyware Blaster A standalone av wont be enough protection. You need to combine em with tools specifically designed to fight spyware.
