hell yeah! even tho i was born/raised in white country... i cant stand my cousins (and even aunt!) who were born/raised in hk, but once migrating they lost all their hkie culture and even the language! i can speak canto more fluently even tho i wasnt born in hk...
to be honest..i wasn´t proud when i was 13-15, cuz i was bullied at school cuz of my ethnicity..i reallt wanted to be a non-chinese..if u know what i measn..but know,,i couldn´t be more prouder, and why? that´s cuz we have everything, from food to the way we are..you know like we chinese talk alot bout "yee hei" but that depends from pers to person..and the way u r raised..and the best of it all,,WE HAVE TVB!!!!
u should tell ur friend to come to san francisco.... biggest chinatown in the world outside of china... wassup..... WOOT WOOT ....
Definitely I'm proud to be Chinese, even I have a little mix. In my place, sometimes when people say they are Chinese, others will treat them a little better than other races. I don't know why.
I'm very proud to be Chinese. But, like Don and truekiss agree with each other, there are some Chinese which... have been "whitewashed," as you like to put it and don't respect and hold in pride their Chinese heritage. ~Nightfire
Well it's better to be proud than mourning being Chinese for the rest of your life... So proud it is...
I used to be one of those people who didn't care about being Chinese, but during these past few years I've really gotten to appreciate my culture and identity. It's pretty cool to be amongst the most populous group in the world!
at one point i soo wished i was korean or japanese. they just seem so much cooler. but i've come to a realization that chinese rocks ^^. im totally proud of being chinese. even though my ultimate combo is being 50% chinese, 25% korean and 25% jap
