    how u figure... the settings and characters are all Asian... all the aspects of the story, besides the spoken language, are clearly derived through Asian cultural elements... DragonBall on the other hand... Goku's a fcking alien... atleast u can argue that aliens != asian...

    i saw the trailer for this in the theatre... the monk looked asian at first and I was pretty excited since this would be the first asian kid to play a main role in a hollywood movie.....welll.. that excitement ended when I realized the Asian Kid was in fact a White Kid dressed as a monk.. wtf...

    Seriously..a White Monk? Come on now....that's like using John Cho to play as Heavy Duty in G.I. Joe. -_-

    It's just that when I saw the trailer and saw the kid, I thought it resemble the person in the anime from Avatar..
    Now DragonBall on the other hand did not...

    xD I thought like that when I saw trailer for DB like why is a white guy playing as the main char -.-

    Avatar is NOT an anime щ(゚Д゚щ)

    ====================================

    For those who haven't seen the cast for tekken since its kinda like the situation with ava and db =p

    Some of the cast is ok (note not a complete set of casts) but I see failures like Jin and Christie suddenly becoming white ┐(´д`)┌ and also I'm not being racist or anything but this is just retarded.

    Besides knowing that these sorta live actions will fail and yes I understand that these are aimed @ different audiences but at least they should really get the fucking cast right or it will already fail as a adaption. Also these online pet's will not help much to these matters.

    ^ lol

    Miki falls would be classed as a OEL (Original English-language) Manga or Amerimanga. Manga does mean comics published in Japan plus the style etc and what ult said about white guy doing manga published in US would be OEL/Amerimanga.

    The word "anime" refers to animation professionally created by a japanese company for a japanese market, avatar is produced in US hence not anime but animation or cartoon etc (no such thing as a OEL anime incase your wondering as for anime there is a clear distinction), basically it has to originate from japan =p

    If you still don't believe me do a search @ anidb.net for avatar and you get a lol interesting page along with a faq for anime ^_^

    the eddy and marduk roles are perfect, the size and shape of marduk can only be portrayed by nathan jones and on wiki they said the character was created based off nathan jones and the guy who plays eddy, lateef crowder. after i saw him in protector i was like omg eddy gordo. also the guy playing jin is not white hes chinese hahhaa, and the girl playing xiaoyu should've been chinese lol switching parts. but definitely if we just want asian characters to be portrayed by asian actors (no specific ethnicity)then those parts are pretty much correct lol the only definite miscast is christie i cant see that girl as christie its pretty much ridiculous. the movie can fail by bad acting but damn most of the cast are actually legit fighters, the guy who plays marshall law beat frank shamrock recently and holds a perfect mma record. check out his training video lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8z0IrFe5ag, this is jin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo8HVJ5vNJI, eddy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDBnkf-hSjk.... i don't know why people think the cast fails as i think its almost the perfect cast (skills wise) except christie. oh yea the guy playing steve was in hellboy 2, he was pretty badass. the other thing that sucks about this movie though is that some MAJOR characters from the game is NOT in it. like Paul Motherfucking Phoenix and King!!!

  13. Christie is fully bogus.

    I agree with your comment. They're trying to cast what the mainstream (and if mainstream is white the cast will be white) wants to see. They need more actors willing to stick around and try to make it in this market as oppose to those that bail out and make it big in Asia.

    Hmm the Tekken cast doesn't look to appealing. It's Hollywood everything is justified by action and explosions I doubt they would care enough to cast actors that fit into the role and description of the character :X.

    I understand that anime refers to JAPANESE ANIMATION but I'd rather view it as an artistic style rather that limiting the term to the location of where animation was produced. I mean would Avatar be classified as anime had it been produced in Japan and aired in the U.S.?
