Really? No offense, but I certainly didn't think so; here's the ending from that series found on YouTube. If anything, I think it reinforces my view that he really is just a second tier Keh Leh Feh who lucked into stardom with his 'Ah Wong' portrayal. If one were to look at his acting history, it's apparent that prior to Square Pegs, he was basically an entertainment industry nobody. Then, after his immense popularity with his retard role, all of a sudden he started to get nominations for a whole slew of awards; I think TVB had a lot to do with it. They were behind the scenes, putting the fix in to boost what they thought would be a rising star. However, to their dismay, Kwok can't act worth a shit. In that final closing scene of Last One Standing, of him trying to look evil? Sorry, IMHO, he just looks like an angry retard. -rolleyes
This serie is quite funny. Although Sharon is the lead actress, I noticed she doesn't really have much screen time.
I don't know why I do think he did a good job in the Last One Standing, or maybe it was the whole drama and plot that made him look good as well, anyway I do think he did a good job in that one...but after Last One Standing I haven't seen him in similar roles but just goofy roles. Being honest I'll like TVB to give him another shot for some serious role because besides Last One Standing and a Threeshold Persona (something like this) the rest of his series have been pure BS. Changing a bit the topic I ran out of dramas to watch is this one and Bullet Brain worth to watch?
No one commenting on finale & overall series? Guess I'll be the first. Quite enjoyable series. Many says this drama is comparable to K-drama's Gentleman Dignity; thus I will give that a try afterwards. Whenever the four men are together, it's always enjoyable to watch. I think those 4 have quite a bit of chemistry and their jokes are funny. Grace & Pal; quite a bit of age difference but at least they acknowledged that in the show. I have to mention that Grace is damn sexy. Selena as Elsa, I thought it was a perfect role for her. Selena does have an image that she has the personality as Elsa in real life. If possible, I wouldn't mind a sequel.
The story was really dumb, actually there's no real story at all. But this serie was quite funny and entertaining at times.
The 'no story' is sometimes one of the better ones. Recall Inbound Trouble. No idea what I was watching for the whole series, but I enjoyed it.
I'll answer your question with an observation that Jeff made (ie. No one commenting on finale & overall series? Guess I'll be the first...) That basically tells me that hardly anyone was really interested in the series. One of the best indicators to these TVB shows is by the length of forum discussion threads. The more threads and messages related to a show, then the more fans and viewers it has. If you find a show is near it's end and there's hardly any talk going on, then it's usually a good idea to skip it. As for Bullet Brain? I found it to be humorous at times, but the whole idea was too flaky, having a village idiot become super smart because of a ballistic wound. It was rightfully panned.
Actually, It was quite sweet when Roger & Sharon end up together as a couple in this drama of Awfully Lawful but it is a shame that this drama did not get a higher ratings.
