i think it's a good retirement plan for becks. cos he's getting a huge load from la galaxy and he also play more games too...
so much money wasted to buy beckham....hes getting old and is slowing down...this proves that the mlb has no real good soccer player
I dont think he is worth a contact that takes that much money away from the team. What the heck is the GM thinking. Sure it might draw a higher attendance, but thats a lot of $$$$$$$$
i bloody hate him - bein an english - born n bred english football (soccer) lover, but had my doubts of him - ever since he was sent off in 98... i bet if i asked all yas, if i were givin ya like $150k a week, ya dnt wana go 2 play in the US? if ya dnt, then thats jst the biggest lie eva...yea i guess nw his hme country h8s him nw n its jst the right time 4 him 2 finish his career in the US...by that time - gerrard of england - wd lead us 2 euro + world cup glory....
capello is a idiot. hes also run ronaldo out of real madrid. he is wrecking that team with his stupidity. but when becks heads to toronto i'm gonna make my way their to watch !!! sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!
there are 2 ways this deal could work out: either the mls gets more attention from the rest of the world or beckhams fame fizzles out, or both, either way beckham still earns alot
he is so over rated. Yes he is good, but comon, no one is worth that much money. Plus, this is the united States, who watches soccer anyways. i wish somoen can reverse this deal. spend money elsewear.
it's a huge and smart move to grab becks over here....it's a perfect way to attract fans...when the world soccer comes along...I'm sure almost the first name that would pop into peoples head is Beckham(even if they don't even know or llike the sport) but i think Beckham's time is almost coming to an end....he isn't doing much over with real anyways......and plus maybe he just wants to attack hollywood after >.<
Didn't he just get hurt the other day, didn't really read up on it, but if its serious, there goes few 100million down the drain for the galaxy
the downfall of my idol, so sad... but on the other hand, i might have a chance to see him here, woohoo!
His playing skills do not worth that much but his fame does. imho i think americans hate to lose and will always wants to be best at what they do (or at least among the best i think =P). So i guess they dont really like the fact that they are getting pwned in the worlds most popular sport. By bringing Beckham over to US, they are hoping to generate more public interest in the sport which might improve the standard of soccer in US in the long run.
