To be honest, he should be dropped way long ago. He's only good with freekicks and corners, his feets cant run as much as he did when he was in his United years. The only reason I see him staying on in the England squad is the loyality shown to him by Ericsson. He just cant seem to drop his captain for a better quicker player like lennon. With a new manager, new tatics and a new captain, England started winning games and in big numbers ( 5-0 ) so, the choice is right in dropping Beckham.
I've watched soccer my entire life and i honest think that David Beckham is one of the best captain/leader/player EVER !! BEST SPOT KICKER ... NO ONE CAN BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM !!
The england team look a lot better without Beckham; more energy, speed directness and the Team dont have the pressure they used to have of passing it to Beckham all the time and I think theyre playing a lot more relaxed now. They have been playing small nations so far so will be good to see how they measure up to a decent team.
Beckam was the pride an joy of england, but hes getting older and like gretzky in hockey, ure bound to detiorate after ure prime. i think he picked a good time to step down. this benefits england as new players can step up to the task while beckam is still around to give some mental support
