Perhaps you're right, I'm being too harsh. It's probably due to bias lol, since it's purely a luxury item in my eyes, and that many of its consumers don't know why it's good. It's like an iPhone, people keep claiming it's good, but don't know why it's good.
i own a pair of shures, i think the cheaper versions are well worth their sound value but as you go further and further up, i think it becomes less value based. there has been talk that they abuse the brand name but oh well, lots of companies do that nowadays. if i had the money, i would fork out a lot for some custom iems by uniquemelody.
i got some etymotics and they are pretty good. but the sound is very balanced so not gd for those who like bass heavy music.
