YG Entertainment announced on February 7 that BIGBANG will be returning this spring after a four-year hiatus.

“BIGBANG will be releasing a new song this spring. They have finished recording the new song, and are currently preparing to shoot the music video,” said YG Entertainment.

After completing their military service in 2019, the members of BIGBANG — T.O.P, Taeyang, G-Dragon, and Daesung — had been preparing for a comeback, which was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

This upcoming comeback will mark their first new music in four years since Flower Road, released in March 2018.

T.O.P parts ways with YG Entertainment

BIGBANG’s T.O.P will be leaving YG Entertainment, the label that manages the band, after 16 years, although he will still be part of the K-pop group.

Regarding T.O.P’s departure, the agency explained, “T.O.P’s exclusive contract with YG has ended, and he will be taking on various challenges as an artist and an entrepreneur. We respect T.O.P’s desire to expand his individual activities aside from his activities with BIGBANG, and he successfully came to an agreement about this with the other members.”

“T.O.P will join BIGBANG’s activities whenever the circumstances allow,” YG Entertainment added.

They were supposed to be at coachella last year too, I think that's when new music was expected to come out. Obviously that was cancelled and they're not apart of this years lineup.. so I'm excited for them to be back
