it don't really matter which client you have, its pretty much the connection speed, and if your ports are fowarded, if you have a router.
i meant like all bt stuff..ill just let the thing dl even if it takes forever...its not like im desperate to watch..i don't think i can get it to go fast again
The reason why you get a speed increase is because the Bit-Torrent protocol uses a mass udp unicast packet routing for DHT network. Because of this most small SOHO routers will not be able the large routing table and hence memory will overflow and connection will seem slow. Also by allowing 1000 max connection this is clearly going to overflow ur SOHO router.
i've try this out .. i don't seem to be getting the "listen port" correct. how do you 'port forward' the listening port properly? i think i'm doing that part wrong. thanks
what does that mean? will it mess up the router if you continue to use this tweak? this works i just tried this and my speed is INSANELY fast now.
well depending on your router, if might fall over and you may need to reset it. The question your asking is quite broad, what modem and router are you using.
sometimes, if im downloading too fast, My internet disconnects and I have to reset my modem/router. but that only happened 2 times and i was downloading bout 6 things.
just tested it over night.. for private torrent site like torrentbytes.net.. i go maxed out on my 8mbit line.. for public torrents.. i can go 300ish k/s... which is better than b4.. thanks for the tip..
^ well im still using the 0.60 version so im not quite sure with the 0.72, mayb this screenshot will help (also try pressing ctrl+p) i have a slow connection (512kps) :( so i dont think this speed booster is much of a help -lol Edit: Note about the DHT Network, by unchecking this your basically lowering the amount of peers so in other words it acts as a backup tracker so if the main tracker like this below, cant connect it means your basically stuffed (applies to older torrents) only uncheck plenty of peers arounds so able to finish the download as by doing this tweak it actually adds more connections (obviously) so your modem cant support that many connections so disconnects, so if your connections fails or drops then its due to this thats probably why the i think the person at AF wants you to uncheck the DHT since by doing this there is more of a chance that your modem disconnecting there are ways around this by able to enable more connections and having that backup tracker (DHT) up while not disconnecting -Since some modem/router models simply do not support enough connections and/or become overwhelmed, so they disconnect or lock-up entirely, maybe get a new modem -Limit your download/upload speed or the amount of tasks your doing at the same time -Upgrade to the latest firmware (modem/router) See the manufacturers website for official firmware upgrades. -Use Wired instead of Wireless Some wireless routers that suffer from this problem work fine over Ethernet but disconnect regularly when Wireless is used.
