Lol looks like he doesn't wan't one now LOL he just spent his money on a BMW 335xi and says he is gonna be broke for a long while LOL
That's what you would call industrial. Most people, myself included, would usually opt for something more discreet though. I just chose something that sits between being extreme and modest. =P @AkkiOnimusha: Your friend has some cash there...hah. Congrats to him!
Dell Inspiron 530 Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB) Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz- 2DIMMs Monitor 24 inch E248WFP Entry Widescreen Digital Flat Panel Monitor Video Cards Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 Hard Drives 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) for Under $700.. I think no one can build this one... the CPU and the monitor already worth over $700..
lmao ok first thats a dell... dell is one of the worst companies you should buy a computer from. lets see Videocard is an integrated intel which in my mind is shit and comes with motherboard so it means it has no value at all. 1gb ram ddr2 is uh less than 50$. the 24" monitor is made by who? dell? if so then that means the monitor doesnt cost over $200 cause of the parts they used for the monitor is very cheap. and 250gb hard drive is the smallest hard drives on the market nowadays and goes for less than 50$ too. so only the quad core is around 200$. so for 700$ i'd say its not worth it.
i dont think dell was that bad,, atleast i own a 20inchd ultra sharp widescreen lcd - $500 like 3yr ago, & a 700M laptop for $750 also 3yr ago.. (very cheap) R u sure the lcd worth less than $200? this lcd sell in ebay for $300-400.
i'd stay away from anything in the dell home line ie their entire inspiron line. There has nothing but problems with that line...go with their business level products like vostro and optiplex for desktop and latitude for laptops. Quality is a lot better and the price is about the same
^ unfortunatly the truth is Dell uses the cheapest hardware to build your computer unless you are willing to spend a couple grand and still their systems are inferior considering the amount of computing power to the amount of money spent on them.... dell machines are really not for the user that is always running their computers. Dell computers are for cheap alternative for kids that don't know any better............=\
^ i wouldn't say that our environment is all dell's and we have maybe 1 - 2 major service calls a year with them where they need to service the motherboard or something like that they are definitely hardy and work for the people that leave their computers on all day i've had more issues with toshiba and hp laptops that i've had with dell laptops and we've bought tons of both at work if you look at their home line it sucks hard and has more issues but they've built their business line well and they last
^ because they get their computer bought from a lot of companies in bulk so naturally there business lines are better and quite frankly business computer have their own anti-whatevers so you can randomly install shit to the comp with out admin privilages while at home, the user download installs and basically abuses the computer till the point it wants to die and the user wonders what they did wrong........ so yeah business wise dell can be a good choice especially because they are cheap and also if your company is big enough they take back the old computers for a hefty discount on an upgrade if your company does so...
i completely lost you akki in what you are trying to say anti what????......frist dells don't take back your old computers for any discount they help you recycle them but u don't get any discount watsoever from them. Second what you are describing is more user incompetance than the computer itself...it has nothing to do with the quality or price of a computer...for those things you can't help it users are dumb they are dumb not going to change anything
I never said Dell is the best computer maker, but they r cheap for those who dont know how to build a PC. I mean what you pay is what u get. I know the Dell using crappy part, but does it really that matter.
hm...The Quadcore 2.5 GZ, 12mb Cache's are out for 275, Also, 1066 Ram is dropping into the 60 range after rebates, and... Nvidia just release their 700 series motherboards, which have PCI-E x 16 2.0 which you should get now unless you plan on upgrading mobo, and Vidcard later again. yea. vid cards are moving to 2.0 now. jsut thought i'd contribute that. DDR2 800 is @ 35 after rebates for 2 gigs. paired sticks. Dell is good for those who dont know how to build computers, but you know what? All their budget PC's come with 667 ram. Thats like 2 years ago tech. So.... yea. I'm sure all the other people do the same thing for budget boxes.
that whole recycling thing is true though... im learned about it working for National Grid (huge electric company) and frankly they get like an upgrade in their computers and they told me themselves they get a discount if they send back the old models.... meh -shrug and well user incompetence does play a huge roll in their computers breaking down, but you can say that for any brand, but on the long run hardware failure for the typical user is much more likly with dell's.... i had a dell desktop and i let my mom use it and believe me it runs fine at first but gets ridiculously crappy a few months later (mind you that she only uses it to do finicial things and watch TVB shows via an external)... my IBM thinkpad receives so much more demand from me and it hasn't failed on me could just possibly be that im not an incompetent user... I have fixed my friends dell laptop/desktop more often then they should be.... MEH w/e if i were to get a desktop ill stick with building my own...
^ sounds more like the big company is using a lease model where they can return the computers for a discount on the new ones that they will purchase...but this is something worth looking into if they actually do give a discount on "recyled" systems sounds more like your mom and buddies got the computer gunked more than they should...you know windows also has a life time of about 6 months to 2 years depending on how fast your registry rots to death,. Maybe you should teach them some good practice on the computers like not installing too many unnecessary software and doing ad-ware/anit-virus and crap cleaning once a month or so
nope but dell seems to like hardware failure, my friend had a dell and it broke down 3 times in a year. ended up changing the whole motherboard, hard drive and power supply.
I second the dells being more prone to failure. Many people i know own dells, and the so far two monitors have gone and others have had BSOD's and such. Terrible Terrible Terrible.
