^ Not necessary, it just takes practices. With simplified cangjie, you have to know how to write the character to type it, so it may take some more getting-used-to.
Oh back in those days... I used to type Chinese around the same speed as English, around 80 characters per minute. Lack of practice (and not having NJStar, uses IME instead) got it dropped to around 20 per minute. It's all about how much you do it. Practice practice practice.
速成 because PinYin is way too slow due to the mass list you have to dig through for the sake of typing a single character.
The language package windows have is pretty bad, but pretty decent without having to install another program
hah since i got my phone in beijing it types in pinyin and english alright! too bad i can't understand chinese at all :( my other friends type to each other through my phone though hah
I type using pinyin cause I never learned any other way. Pinyin was the easiest for me to pick up due to the phonetic nature of the system. It'd be nice if someone taught me how to type the other ways, just in case. Because apparently, using pinyin to type is a rather slow method in comparison. -unsure
I'm using pinyin tooo....the standard IME in windows is ok...if u don't have to typ much text....otherwise..NJSTAR of something else is better....
i use a site where you just type in the pingyin for the character and then it gives u options for what charaters match.....it doesnt always work but its the most helpful site i've found so far for me personally. i think at the homepage you can pick whether u want traditional or simplified. i dont remember if it has cantonese though. here's the site if your interested: http://userwww.service.emory.edu/~zxie3/ime.html
i use a program called CantoInput to type using yale(canto pinyin) on my computer. On my mobile I have a NJStar keyboard installed which can also type hyutping.
Is there a site in English that can teach you how to type the characters using the keyboard, in Cangqie. I heard in Windows, you can set your keyboard to type other languages, but what good would it do if you don't know which key corresponds with what character?
With Hanyu Pinyin, I want to say sometimes I type Chinese even faster than I type English, and I type English pretty fast too.
