They always refer us as Chinese. They don't care if you are Cambodian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese; white, black, and Hispanic will always refer us as Chinese. They will never know how to tell the difference. It is just like beating a dead horse.-noclue
not only Cantonese people has the possibily of being mistaken as viets...but also before I used to think that Cantonese language was similar to Vietnamese...hehe...but yeah not anymore...however...I might still mistaken Cantonese as Viet n vice versa...since some Asian people look similar to one another...
I don't get mistaken for it but I hate when crackers say "Ching chong bang boom" is Chinese when it sounds more viet like "phuc dat"
I only get mistaken for viet from foreigners much like how I can't tell the difference between someone from Mexico vs. Brazil.
lol same goes for me wor when i´m around in vietnam, they think i´m chinese in europe the chinese think i´m viet or chinese but hk was a lot of fun, they all thought i am a HK chinese same goes for my sai lo, when i met him the first time he talked cantonese to me xD but wether it be chinese or vietnamese, it rocks to be asian -cool a few years ago i got a short haircut and some japanese tourists mistook me for jet li lol i should have asked them to send me some prints gnah
ive never been mistaken as a viet....but a few have mistaken me for a filipino which is just...stupid...my cousins nickname me "bun mui" so mean...>.<
