so after 32 episodes this is my synopsis of the entire drama 1 word - Ruco Ruco completely saved the drama, whatever rating I give the drama itself...all of it was because of Ruco. Now let's go back to what I said when the drama first began - where have I seen that before very ending where all the ancient people came back as the modern reincarnated version of themselves. Man, pretty sure I've seen that somewhere...like from Bobby...Always and After... find it funny Oceane was a crazy bitch in the past and still reincarnates as the crazy bitch in the present...either God hates her or TVB hates her how convenient was it for crazy bitch to put a curse on Grace and Tony right in front of Joel and Mandy...how very very convenient...they just look and went "meh, just another day at the beach" The ending where Ray Wong came out as a pirate...I thought had he really did this role instead of Tony, it probably would've been a bit more epic... Also, as a bit of a history nerd myself - I hate how they portrayed JiaQing emperor as a little bitch...throughout the drama he was throwing hissy fits here and there...and since when do emperors play games like that? finds out son isn't his own...plays games instead of just killing him straight up...he must've been really bored now that this is over...I hope TVB makes some Qing period drama starring Ruco as any emperor during that time period. He makes a great candidate if they decide if they want to make a real historical drama after KangXi, Yongzheng or something final rant - who gave permission for Linda Chung to sing? her voice sounds like a cat scratching on a window, and it's really PIERCING through my ears...
The ending was cliche and tacky, but that's what TVB is about. I thought the closure was good. Overall, this drama was entertaining as it provided a different genre for TVB loyalists. The trend continues with TVB using various celebs in cameos. Looks like TVB is giving a chance for a part 2 with this.
The girl helping Ruco kidnapping the guy.. dude, shes nasty looking.. please dont tell me that shes your type.. lol
love you too ...I think the ONLY reason why I never gave up watching this was PURELY Ruco...I guess I really wanted to know the relationship between the ancient Ruco and the modern Ruco...I thought all those letters and clues were cheesy tbh
Just finished this drama. The ending with Raymond Wong was good, only like 5 seconds with no lines, but he would've been more of a badass pirate than Tony Hung. I gotta give a shoutout to Kelly Fu, who portrayed as the maid of Ruco. I thought she was pretty good, I wasn't a big fan of her in TITS2 but in this drama she improved a lot. Arguably I preferred her over Grace in this drama. What really sucked as that there was only 1 "epic" battle, thought I'd see a bit more since it was a pirate-theme drama. Edit: I also gotta add in that I didn't think Elaine Yiu's deserved Best Supporting. But looking at the list of nominees, it's tough since she seems the best candidate.
