was gonna plan to do some exchanging today, but it went back up today to 1.016. that what you normally get now a day anyways. gonna hope to get some more money and be able to exchange it when it drop again (hopefully). since i do all my shopping in the states, this is great. gonna save me a lot on buying a laptop, shoes, clothing etc!!!
USD kept dropping like that, no one will be able to spend. goods will be more expensive that will lead to inflation. i don't think the discount rate will not make much different.
Will you look at that: http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?amt=1&from=CAD&to=USD&submit=Convert 1 to .998
It was in parity for a brief moment at around 6pm... http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CADUSD=X&t=1d&l=on&z=m&q=l&c= But it then dropped back down to 0.99x...
isnt it supposed to be good news? id be exchanging bills to usd now.. canada wont survive the high loonie cuz its market is all exportation. now if the loonie is too high, us wont bother buying, cuz its too expensive. sooner or later the loonie HAS to revert back down. so if i convert 100 cad into usd, itd be roughly 100 usd. when the loonie will go down to... say... 0.75 usd, due to the issue above, i would have gained 25 bucks... edit: wait... youre not from canada right?
i still have an amount of usdollar bills. the euro is still rising to 1.4X and further, so im getting a bad deal.
this is the last time i take foreign money back home. im going to spend everything that i have on me. i got british pounds left, swiss money and usd.
didn;t know that... I think USD will continue to go down til after 2008 olypmics...then will revert back...so CDN with be around 1.06 tops...my guess Will convert some CDN soon...-cool
Current: 1.000 CAD = 0.999 USD So it fell back down below parity? Ohhh... But it DID soar through parity quite a few times today... http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CADUSD=X&t=5d&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=

Didnt read all the fine prints and specs, but the standard package looks the same///they might hit the canadians for duty though
^ they still havent changed the price to follow the currency yet... first things that must be changed are electronics and books..
hmmmm....u know where they have some books that is printer XUSD and XCND price. Let say I go to a store, and the book states 4.Dollars US and 6CND. So I convert my 1 to 1 dollar to US. Then I go to the CND cashier and say. here is 4US dollars for this book! Will the cashier object? ROFLMAO
Most stores has a fixed exchange rate for USD/CAD... Some really ugly rate like 0.80 or something, so you'll have to pay, in USD, 80% of the CAD amount ($19.99CAD = $15.99USD or something)... When this happens, it may as well be better to cross the border and buy it over there... considering the heavy tax in parts of Canada and the USD suggested retail price is still lower.
if it is listed in the book, ain;t it law? that it is the selling price.? the conversion factor is just if u are paying canadian no?
