China's New Proposed Last Name System

    hmmm....how about mixed marriages??
    no 'ABC' things in the surname?? I think i would be quite different from the 'standard' surnames

    ^ I know someone with the last name Lieu, and i know someone with the last name "Joa" which is 袁 .

    if anyone knows canto then if fater is OR and mother is SZE the kids name would be OR-SZE...........kinda setting the kid up or SEE and LIU .... some names cant be put together .....LIU - HUNG

    the traditional way of one surname should be kept... more people should increase their given names to two characters instead of one

    things should be kept the way they are...I've never met anyone with the same name as mine, and I have one of the more common last names: Chan. One of TVB's newscast members has a name that sounds exactly the same. Still written different though.

    Besides, most people wouldn't have the whole same name problem if parents named their kids based on personal details, like their experiences at the time of their birth or something else very important to them, instead of traditional names based on traits the kid should have or their ancestor's names.
