Chinese servers in China are very hospitable and young. Only westernized Chinese servers are hit-or-miss. Westernized any race and they become hit-or-miss.

i have to disagree with u. china does have bad servers. tbh every country can have bad servers but china is more hit and miss cos there isn't a set standard that ppl have to obey but in westernised countries there is.

Yeah sometimes i notice that some waiters/waitresses are rude, but probably they couldn't be bothered and tired. However some are nice.

i think the asian people just have bad services, they don't have high demmands and hire people that don't do their jobs.

its really dependant on the person really, i've been to many chinese restaurant where servers are more friendly or rude, been to the same restaurant and i get different servers while some are alot polite and some aren't, but yeah
gotta agree with databeast on this one

Must have been a bad restaurant or so. Cuz most of them aren't that bad. I always leave a 10% tip just so they won't do anything to my food next time.

It all depends on the restaurant. though when I was at HK airport, I found the service at one of the shops, not that friendly, compared to here in the UK.

chinese servers are ok, but not great. i think service at a pho houses are the worst, especially if the pho house has no real name, but just a number like Pho 89 or something

well there u quite clearly get the hint from the name, i mean if they couldn't even be bothered with the name and named something as rubbish as that, they aren't gonna deliver the best service now are they.

guess its hit or miss, i've been to chinese restaurants in HK and UK. In HK, its more they cnt be bothered like they'd rather be elsewhere, but in UK they cn be quite rude with an attitude problem. In those cases im rather rude back, cos i hate pple like that.

Guess not all chinese restaurants in UK are rude, the ones in London are generally nice except for a couple, but the ones in manchester and birmingham (ie in china town) are really bad. I use to live dwn south so had no trouble, its jus that wen i moved to nottingham, i've had to go Manchester n Birmingham cos they're closer, and the servers there really are bad.

chinese server then to put an thumb inside the food plate when they bring to your table. Eg: Rice Bowl or main dish.
I think it more easier for them to hold the dish , but it lack of hygenic standard ;(
