:( reminded me of my horrible psychology class. However, possibly a good answer =P. maybe you should read a psychology textbook about fear. =O i just reminded myself, most fear of stuff are from childhood (as if this hasn't been said yet<_< ) or you're somehow trained to be afraid of something.
Well... They come in ugly colours. They fly at your faces. They might crawl where they don't belong. I think most of all, we're all subconsciously aware that these creatures are dirty both physically and bacteria wise. So it's like, if it touches you, you get twice the amount of germs on you. Plus places with lots of roaches reflects that the place is extremely dirty and unhygenic right? And of course, roaches that fly at your face WILL give you a bad experience.
haha. i think it's just the general mentality that's given to them as they're growing up. someone who grew up with a lot of cockroaches wouldn't be scared of them. like me. no, i don't collect them. they're just kinda live in my house. i'm not scared of them but wouldn't touch them without a napkin because of the preconception that they're dirty and might possibly carry diseases. (just joking about the disease)
when i think of cockroached i feel dirty and i feel as if they are crawling on me. its much worse when i see a mouse, i will jump and scream.
I'm a guy and I'm afraid of roaches because of their share numbers. My kitchen is full of them. It's like they breeed and breed. Damn they're freaking everywhere. I'm afraid they might bite me while I'm asleep or something. I saw this big ass one the size of my entire thumb in my kitchen yesterday. Goddamn they're fugly(f-ing ugly)
Roaches are filthy, they are known to eat practically anything including fecal matter.. Yes, roaches also have been known to nibble on people too, so those who have roaches? make sure you wash and brush your teeth very well, or they'll be payin you a visit in your bed...lol
Cockroaches are just dirty and they can crawl into places where u dont want them lol! plus when u squash the big one's they smell bad lol! Maybe Cockroaches were dangerous insects in the prehistoric ages.. that's why our natural insticts tell us to stay away from them haha!
^ i have everything raid, combat, exterminator. It's not like i experienced it lately lmao. it's From experience when I was younger.
