Even chinese name first, sometimes when you want to translate it into english sound very hard, depend on what dialect are you in whether you are cantonese, hokkien, hakka.... sometimes parents will translate your chinese name into english name with your dialect sound....
well i got my english name first hahah then my parents phoned my grandmother and she gave me a separate chinese name. so yeah ahahha
My father named my son 'Kwan Ting' He also gave him an english name of Quentin. I realy didnt like the sound of Quentin, even tho its a good match for the chinese name so I said NO!! So we named him ourselves - Tyler, after Steven and Liv Tyler We was watching Armagedon at the time!!!
i got my chinese name first becuase there wasn't any need for englsh names before i went to elementary school in HK
My parent give me chinese name as my parent doesn't speak english or know much english name. =) I don't know who gave me an english name but I been using it till now and even to the last breath of my life. =) I love my chinese name and even my english name.
my parents named me with a chinese name then when i was able to talk i chose my own english name and they dont call me by chinese name but english
english first...but i wish i had chinese first..and on my id...so i can mess with ppl with random english names lol
haha i got an english name first. and it doesn't really resemble my chinese one at all. i think that names that sound the same are funny. like wilber pan. haha. pan wei bo. ahahaha
