The rap these days are not the same as before. The culture now a days have embraced the luxury of many things. Back then it was about gangs, tattoos, and the result of the tragic was pretty evident that these were more than just recording a record.

JIN was pretty dope initially, but he got fking whack, but still his ability to cross over both against some niggies was hilarious. Still I seen some battles, and the way he dresses makes him look siilly.

    LOL

Edison Chen is a gay ball. I hate that guy and it's good that his face on any where is not welcomed.

Rap died in the US already, and no one really cares. But the real drug/triad thing are really separated now. LIke you said, it's just a music culture. The chinese people like to copy, and they will still rap, but about all kind shiet like its a music genre.

That is not to say rap doesn't exist, because all that stuff occurs, but on an underground notion.

Thing is, Edison's not a good rapper. MC Yan wrote all his verses on "Please Steal This Album." He did write his own his material on "Hazy" and he's had FAMA write for him. His Mandarin rap album was co-written (mostly written?) by Hanjin. IMO, he has yet to write anything decent by himself.

Do have anymore examples of overseas Chinese rapping, preferably in Cantonese? I'm just interested.

how there is rap at the intro then it flips. you can really feel which song had a stronger feel. this is what i want to happen to hk rap. like a tidal wave of smth new that smashes into it. cause i feel hk rap is being taken over by Jin. he is like the hip hop poster child right? and he is making songs on dim sum and instant noodles or CHRISTIAN stuff. thats why i like G-Kay because his style and songs would, in similar way, smash over Jin's songs.

I liked Jin's early stuff; but, some of his Canto rap on his ABC cd was okay. I actually like some of 24 Herbs music. You can find it on youtube. "Respect the Poke Guy" was not bad IMO. LOL...
