It depends on what it is and where it drops...if it's chips on the floor I'll pick it up and eat it but if it's sticky food I'll throw it away. If it was the last gamba I'd been fighting for with my sister I would surely pick it up and wash it...(will wash away the sauce but anyway...)
im not rich and i don't waste food so if i were to drop some food, i would pick it up and put it in my mouth (my house isn't even that dirty)
Psh 5 second rule... 5 minutes is more like it. Lol actually no, depends where I drop it. In HK on the streets...no way. In my house though, ya for sure.
*sigh* Oh, how I despise pseudoscience. There is no such thing as the 5 second rule. Period. Whether or not pathogens will attach to food isn't determined by the time of contact--if anything, it's determined by pressure. Fact: If you drop something, it will be contaminated.
I subscribe to the 'If it doesn't kill you it just makes you stronger' sentiment. as long as there isnt any visible stuff on the food after its been dropped im alright with it - a good rinse will fix it right up.
well if i dropped food outside i would definitely throw it in the bin but if i dropped dry food inside the house ( places such as kitchen and dining) well maybe yes but not if i dropped it on carpet!
