I look Chinese. I speak Chinese. I have conservative Confucian values. My main source of music is from HK. I prefer TVB series over US shows. I prefer Chinese movies over Hollywood. I have read more about Chinese history and culture than any other culture on Earth. I tell people, when they ask, that I'm Chinese.

But when it comes down to the crunch. I'll be supporting Australia in the Beijing Olympics.

So I'm an Aussie. Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

Even though I wasn't born here, but as soon as I was naturalized at the age of 2, I've pledged my allegiance to my adopted country. And I've thought about this too. If China was to go to war against Australia, I would back Australia. Who would you back? You're adopted country or your mother country?

My nationality is Chinese Canadian. So if Canada recognizes my culture than and says I'm Chinese than that means I should consider myself to be also Chinese.

I guess I could call myself Asian American. And yeah my parents were born in Hong Kong and not China but they consider themselves Chinese so that makes me Chinese as well because that's where my heritage is from.

Yeah I wasn't born in China or Hong Kong or grow up in that environment I still think I was brought up somewhat differently than American kids, so yeah I'm Chinese :D.

of course! what's with the thing about not considering yourself as chinese when you're not born in China? if you're born in china it makes you a china nationality and not neccessarily a chinese if you're from other races. i am born and raised in msia and i don't consider myself as a chinese because i am a chinese.

All my ancestors are chinese, however, my current generation are all westernized, except for me, because I still have some beliefs that are more in line with those in asian countries.
