i mean, it's in your blood, even if someone doesn't feel like it, it's still in their blodd. i guess it depends on how much you adapt to your Chinese culture to make you feel like Chinese or not, but deep inside, you are one.

i was born in america but basically 100% chinese...i think all asian ethnic group should know how to speak in their mother-langugage. Your language is very unique to yourself and in america it is cool to speak 2 languages instead of 1. By having 2 language, you can probably score jobs easier cause you can help communicate with other people in your native-language. Make an effort to learn it...if your parent speaks it. Why don't you? It's not hard if just try it. You have the tongue to pronounce it unlike many non-chinese people which literally butcher each word. I'm not saying that i know how to read or write well but at least be able to make conversation. just my opinion so dont kill//flame me lol

Absolutely YES! Whatever where you born, it won't change your race isn't it?
(Some people who born in Hong Kong says they are "Hong Kong People" not Chinese, but the parents are proper Chinese, funny : \?)

Thats what I dont get really, Hong Kong is in my eyes part of China. So I see HK people as Chinese. I was born in HK but I always see myself and HK as Chinese

Yes, I consider myself chinese (even though I was born and raised in Canada) and am making an effort to learn cantonese and embrace my culture.
