my parents were born in China and i wasn't. eventho i can't read or write i still consider myself chinese.
So, if my parents were both born in Vietnam..but my grandparents were born in China..would you still consider me chinese? My parents do.
I was born in Hong Kong too but I am studying in UK for long-term. But I will consider myself as Chinese. Since H.K. is apart of China now... -sweat
I'm full blooded Chinese born American. For the most part, I consider myself Chinese; probably because I'm [possibly] the last of my bloodline.
hey, once a Chinese forever a Chinese, regardless of whtr u r born in China or not.. So long thr's Chinese blood in our roots, yeah considered as Chinese..
Re: Do you consider yourself Chinese, if you werent born in China but your parents we Well, my parents were born and raised in China but i'm an american born chinese. If you consider yourself Chinese, then you are. If you consider yourself American, then you consider yourself American. As for me, I'm ABC.
I definitely consider myself Chinese, even though I've been raised and born in Holland. Don't feel Dutch at all -^_^
Re: Do you consider yourself Chinese, if you werent born in China but your parents we I'm chinese coz my parents are and thats that even if I was born in England -innocent2
Re: Do you consider yourself Chinese, if you werent born in China but your parents we I believe in innovation. You are where you were raised and not so much where your parents are from. Look in America you won't find too many Italians, Germans, English, French, etc etc calling themselves those things. They just simply say I'm American. On the other hand you'll find Asian-Americans saying "I'm Chinese" or "I'm Vietnamese" because they were raised in a way where they don't completely find themselves assimilated to America. Not assimilating a mass population to the country can cause a country to collapse hence me riding on to the bandwagon. I'm "Asian American" thank you very much -surr
I dont think just because people consider themselves say Chinese but live in America it will cause a country to collapse. I mean those people recognise where their real roots lie and are proud to say what they are. They would still have respect for that country but are first and formost Chinese. However you are right when you say you are American Asian. That would be more correct as although you are Asian, you still grew up in America.
