The statement causes a separation factor which polarizes America. I am not saying that I don't recognize my roots and where they came from, but moving a family to a different country should mean the acceptance of a different culture. You eat their food, you take their holidays off, you follow their traditions, and hence you start new roots. And obviously there was something wrong with the old country to encourage a family to move. In my family's case they came looking for "better opportunity."

It may not necessary be the people themselves that polarize the country. I mean it may be the country themselves that arent willing to give new immigrants a chance to integrate. Im not saying thats always the case but neither is it the immigrants fault.

I watched a program about Chinese immigrants moving to Britain for better oppurtunities. They wanted to work, they wanted to be part of British society, they were very willing to accept the new culture. However it was the new country that wasnt willing to accept a hard working immigrant. Instead he got no help from the main society and the only help he could get was from the Chinese communities within Britain. When things like these happen it isn't easy accepting and being integrated into a new community.

But then like I said before this isnt always the case. I guess it is different for every situation. Some immigrants move purely to take advantage of economical benefit whilst blantenly not wanting the accept the new culture at all.

The bit of paper says I am not Chinese but the blood in my body is fully chinese, so I guess I'd have to say I am!

haha the answer of this question is so obvious....
obviously u'll still consider as chinese.... i'm pretty sure that person would look pretty chinese him/herself. if someone walks up to that person they wont say. "Hey, you're White", rather "Hey, you're Asian" <--- just an example... not saying anyone would actually they that in real life but rather in their mind

not always, you get some people who are born abroad and consider themselves to be that countries race (like British, American, etc).

I'd say you're definately chinese if somewhere along the generations your parents/grandparents came from China.
