This is the perfect excuse to do more shopping in HK :) Why would I bring clothes I can buy in Hong Kong, I'd rather buy an empty suitcase while I am there and fill it with fobby things to bring back :D

And yes wear comfortable things on the plane, 16 hrs is no joke and I have never seen a cute guy on the flight to HK :\

it depends where u go, if u go to somewhere where every1 cares about fashion, it s important to wear nice but if u go like to africa i dont think its necessary

Never tried to fit in the local dressing style, just took whatever clothes I have with me and I'll buy stuff in HK if I spot nice things. Although I do have to say that one should dress 'properly' (no shorts for example) if you plan to visit the financial district Central/Chun Wan where you will look out of place if you dress very touristy like.

^True...or when you're in the supermarket and the cashier lady fires a stream of words at you and you only caught the word 'stamp' and looking at her like paralysed because you're trying to process what she'd just said...My Canto is fine I guess, but the locals talk so fast I just can't follow everything.

Haha last summer I've managed to break my own personal record of bringing just 1 pair of jeans and 1 blouse while I was wearing the other set in the plane. Apart from the undergarments and some socks, my suitcase was empty as I wanted to buy new clothes in HK.-^_^

I'm probably doing the same this December when it's sale in HK and return with a full suitcase with brand new clothes. (but I stick to my 'western' clothing style and leave the fobbish stuff)

I find that my hair stands out when I got to HK, I have short hair and stuff, but as my cousin pointed out, most guys in HK nowadays have that lots of hair, all spiked up look like thing (please say u know what i mean!! >_< ) I'm 15 but he says my hair makes me look really young!

awwww...ever the optimist..........i agree.........you shouldn't be embarrassed to dress up like a tourist...When u travel....it is expected that u will spend money.....if u think that u will get ripoff just because u dress like a tourist...might as well go walk around in the neighbourhood...dont bother travelling....Just my opinion-innocent2
