I think that you can accept that your not with them or "in love" with them anymore, but they'll always have that special place in your heart... I mean how many first's do you get in a lifetime?
The first thing is u have to release but the first love will always be something special because u experienced everthing for the first time
I can say I have a lot of first's... first love, first steps, first kiss, first blabla... sooo...dont think my first love was really that special... no prob with being friends with any of my exes... all are exes... sooo... all are my past
honest no, still there in my mind, but im single right now, i tend to have a bad habit of remembrance the past, never thought about my future gf or anything like that.
yes ofcourse, its just a matter of time. By not thinking about him/her will definitely help you to forget it.

I think it is hard to forget your first love but i am sure you can find someone else even though your first love has many qualities that the 2nd or 3rd guy doesnt.
gotten over my first but he will always have that special spot in my heart.. we only went out for 2 1/2 weeks but it was so strong.. we're still friends, very close friends too

Get over it: yes Special place: always. You will always think back to your first love, and wonder the "what if" question. Even if you get into a new relationship and is living happily, you still can't help but wonder "what if it was with ____, the one that taught you and showed you how deep you can love?" At least, it's a question I always think about occasionally... yeah... I got over it and don't love him anymore but I don't think I can ever forget someone that once meant so much in my life.
First love to most people are like big step forward since it is their first relationship with the opposite sex. Obviously a set back as big as that tend to make people brood over a lot more than subsequent one.
I don't believe anyone can forget about their first love. I don't know if I consider mine as my first love since I was so young. When you're young, you get away with so many things. Nothing seems to matter, not even your family; almost seems like one gives one's all for love, but now that we're older, many things matter. That is why young love is so unique; therefore, I'm not even sure if my first love is considered my "first love" cause it seems so unreal at the same time.
