I don't know, I think it's only CHIINESE MOMS. My white friends' moms don't do any nagging or bitchin'. It's only the Chinese Moms who keep lecturing and setting rules and curfews.
yessss. they are superly(dont even know if thats a word) overprotectlve. i know they care and stuff, but sometimes my mom treats me like a little kid. IN PUBLIC!! i know!! she calls my 'baby' in front of people. its embarrassing! goshhh.
yes they are at times. I live like 20 minutes away and my mom asks the same ol questions everyday (have you eaten yet?, are you sleeping soon? are you drinking enough water?).... honestly... i wonder like what's keeping her from asking me have i gone to the restroom yet. but honestly, i can tell that she does love me and she calls me only becuz she cares.... so i respect that... but during those 6 minutes or so it's just hella annoying.
hhaha, my mum spends most of her time lecturing me =p saying stuff like...why arent you reading...stop watching tv...go do something more productive..blah blah blah, and when i do something unhelpful that contributes to the household chores..she goes and lectures me and says that...if she do that..my siblings will follow -_- bleh..im normally the one that remembers to do it...and they dont bother...and she so easily influnce by other people's word...so then i have to reassure her that it's all bullshite, i go and tell her that she's a "sil lui yan" (little woman?) and she goes and answr back.."i admit and what?" and goes back lecturing hahaha Mothers loves to compete and compare and moan....thats all i have to say... though you get used to it and let it be "yee bin fung" (ear side wind)..
who doesn't. when you can ignore the nagging sounds ... you'll know you've mastered filtering out her voice.
My Mom is pretty cool, she nags but knows when i am at my limit listening to her nagging and she would stop. At times, when she is furious, she'll stop nagging and gets straight to the point and that is when she scares me, she's like you better do this OR else ..................................
the only painful thing is when you grow up and become like her then your kids have exactly the same complaints about you
