Dutch accent when speaking English...And family and relatives in HK say they can easily hear I have an accent like someone who doesn't manage their Cantonese i.e. a foreign Canto accent. -what?
my friends say i have an accent when i speak Cantonese... but when i ask my mom and my grandma, they both say my Cantonese sounds fine. meh, maybe cuz they're used to it..... and no, i'm not embarrassed because w/e. i still know the language.
I’m from Hong Kong & we’ve absolutely no accent in speaking English。 We didn’t catch Britsh accent (HK under UK’s rule until Jun 30,97) nor American accent。
Nope, no British accents but only a HK accent huh? And you're not lecturing the HK/Canto diaspora about HK's recent history I hope? -what?
I actually have no idea what kind of accent I have. When I try to speak Mandarin, I have a slight Cantonese accent. If I'm speaking in English (most of the time) I can have alot of different accents >.< One time, someone asked me if I was from England since it sounded like I had a British accent. Then another time, someone thought I had a Brooklyn accent which I suppose isn't too bizarre, but I've only lived in Brooklyn for the first 2 years of my life. There are alot more incidents involving my accent, but...that'd be too many.
no accents in my english or canto! haha, but some of you saying that you were born in america so no accent, but hey! i live in san francisco. and i know a whole lot of ABC's who have accents. its soooooooo funnay cause they don't think they do. have you guys ever met someone who has a chinese accent in their english, but they barely know any chinese? LOL!!! i do.
English: none French: had a quebec accent, now an english accent and ashamed of it. Viet: Bac accent (north) <- im not a north viet. im a south viet with a north accent.
no accent here~ english is fine, canto is fine, mando is fine ^^ probably a slight accent while speaking spanish ><;;
Not much of an accent, beside the use of strange phrases such as "good day" or "have a pleasant evening" I think I caught that reading English (England-English, that is) novels... Agatha Christie perhaps. So no accent in Cantoneses nor English, althought I do have a tendency to overuse proverbs in Cantonese.
