i've never been to IKEA since there's none near me, but i've always wanted to go shop there to remodel my room
Stern opinions towards IKEA you said? Here's my very opinionated 2 cent: IKEA is the indulgence for lack of originality. Yes, there's the showroom, yes, there's the catalogue. But the evil in those cool showroom and fancy catalogue is that you will very soon visit MULTITUDE of people whose house came STRAIGHT out of an IKEA catalogue/showroom. To me it's just a thing for lazy people, not necessary poor ones. Of course, the pricing at IKEA was THE selling point, besides their often well-designed furnitures. However, I tend not to purchase furnitures at IKEA just because they don't last, especially the wooden ones, no matter what price range you buy them at, they don't last multiple assembly and dissembly (a la multiple relocation/moving). Oh, and last thing, IKEA design is TOTALLY not space conscious, despite all the commercial and taglines they try to feed the consumers. The so-called space consciousness was of a HUGE flat with LOADS of empty space, not of a flat with spacial constrain (as per Hong Kong style living). And lastly? This one's more personal. IKEA encourages excessive (and unoriginal) decorating.
There in only one IKEA in Australia,Victoria. It dutch IKEA means disposable furniture (Correct me if i am wrong)
cheap and effective i guess and its not expensive to fill up ur brand new house if you are buying from there it has its ups and downs tho i must agree
IKEA things are way too disposible and replacable IMO... It's just lying to oneself to think "I am very unique with this light fixture".
