V good game that brings the family together, lots of memorial moments, for instance i played it at Xmas with my family and my dad will always say pk when he about to win with a big head, thats when i get really scared cos we play for money, no holding back on his part :( Also agree with the original poster view that mahjong is the texas holdem for us asians, more strategy involved
Not addicted to it, but love to play it whit friends and family, Cantonese or Taiwanese style and it dependence whom I playing whit. And I find it very amusing. Once you started to play and the time fly by
Love It. But I always lose. =[ but there was this one time where I won ten times in a row but i think it was just gai wu.

anyone know a good site that explains how to count points and the most commonly used bonus points? +1 point on a kong self pick. or how many points is a "little 4 up" ponging 3 of the winds and the last wind is your eye.
Dont know how to play mahjong, would like to learn though. The thing is.. my whole family doesn't play it either.
My whole family plays it mainly during the Christmas break. My dad is from the generation (meaning he can tell the pieces by touching them).
