man, dann you hitting me below the belt. since, you're changing my original intent for that statement with your own personal views and opinions. i do consider myself part of that individualistic tone, where did i say i wasn't? and come'on -- i admit to having been a bit unorthodox in showing my view with that statement. but i have posted many other times with valid explanations and patience with other people attacks and views on Chistianity. -.- it isn't nice of you to consider me as some douchebag ... just b/c of one statement that i carelessly typed.
@MDD: Would you care to define extremist for me? Just humor me, because I personally don't really understand that term in particular...
lol im glad for that thanks -lol i forgot to retract that post, because i posted it before you explained to me.. i apologize for the assumptions ive made during my fit of rage.. and i apologize for kicking you in the balls -sweat check out where my old post used to be... i changed it.
now... i do believe this is the basis of what all our religions want us to do in the first place get alond with each other no matter our differences -worship
I don't know how many serious religious people you know, but I know quite a few extremists. When a person is completely blinded by religion in everything, many problems arise unknowingly to the person but is apparent to others. I know a Christian who states they will not lie or murder under any circumstance because she says her religion (Christianity) forbids it. I asked her "if a friend went up to you and wanted to hide in your basement because a mad man is trying to kill her, would you let her hide in your basement?" My Christian friend replied yes. So then I asked "if the mad man arrives holding a weapon and asks you if you have seen your friend (the mad man describes her in detail), would you tell the mad man the truth that your friend is hiding in your basement and you give him the address when he asks even though you know that your friend will die for sure?" My Christian friend replied that because her religion does not allow her to lie, she will tell the truth to the mad man and rather he kill her friend than to lie herself. She said she will not regret it either. That is just one of the examples. I believe that rules are man-made after all and there are exceptions. When I see a human being being blinded by religion and restricted by it, there is no freedom. There is no point in being a human then.
I guess you mean people whose religious and/or beliefs precedes their common sense? Overly faithful people, I guess, never quite my forte.
^ It MAY set morales, but it doesn't necessary means that it BOOST morality in its population of followers in general.
