This just looks cheesy as all hell. Straight to DVD. Its 2008, movies should be and stick 100% to its original origin. This movie strays from it in the most hideous ways.
Props to the graphic designer that created this poster. Jesus, what a piece of shit.

1st Live-Action Dragonball Poster with Son Goku Posted.

    posted on 2008-07-19 06:49 EDT

Rear view of leading actor Justin Chatwin in orange gi with kame kanji

The Sankei Shimbun paper has posted the first poster from the Dragonball live-action film that features a main character on Friday. The poster portrays Canadian actor Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds, The Invisible, Lost television series), who stars as Son Goku, in his familiar orange gi martial arts uniform complete with the kanji for kame ("turtle" for his mentor Master Roshi or Kame Sennin) on the back. Just as in the previous teaser poster, the new poster's Japanese text reads when translated: "The legend comes to life." The new poster also adds the following text: "Opens worldwide at maximum speed on March 13, 2009."

Twentieth Century Fox signed director James Wong (Final Destination, X-Files television series, The One) to adapt Akira Toriyama's shonen fighting manga. Viz Media publishes the original manga in North America, while Funimation distributes the anime version.

oh noooo...........im scared for this film....like a lot......maybe they should have Justin Chatwin play trunks would have been a better idea......
but I WILL still watch this, even if it is absolute failure.....I will watch it....

IF PEOPLE WANNA SEE A CHINESE ADAPTATION TO DRAGONBALL AND STREET FIGHTER.....

Well...Actually, this is a super old school but funny chinese film:
    Future Cops...超級學校霸王

wELL, its old school, so bare with the lack of good effects, but the story is damn funny, watched it as a kid, enjoyed it so much that 10 years later when I went Hong Kong I managed to find it and buy it on DVD lol.

i think the movie would be alright, just the cast isn't that great. No matter what, we CANNOT imitate goku's hair. It's impossible. In fact, you can't mimic half the cast's hair. lol
